Hartley of Men’s Volleyball Named to Junior National Training Team

USA VOLLEYBALL RELEASE
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – USA Volleyball recently announced its Men's Junior National Training Team and freshman James Hartley of the Princeton University men's volleyball team was named to the squad of 20 players under the age of 21.
Additionally, Henry Wedbush and Gavin Leising, members of the Princeton Class of 2024, were named to the squad while assistant coach Pat Shawaryn was named to the coaching staff.
"We are so proud of James, Henry, and Gavin having been named to this prestigious program. It is an honor not taken lightly by any of them," said head coach Sam Shweisky. "A chance to represent the USA in international competition is an amazing opportunity and we are so grateful that these three Tigers have been invited to participate in the training block. Additionally, I would like to congratulate coach Pat Shawaryn for being named assistant coach to this staff. Coach Pat has been working tirelessly with USA Volleyball for the past decade and I am very excited to see him be awarded this prestigious opportunity!"
Hartley expressed his excitement on being included in the squad.
"I am so honored to be named a part of the junior national training team," said Hartley. "Wearing USA on my back is one of the biggest honors I can receive in the volleyball world and I am so excited to be able to sport those letters for the sixth year in a row. Thank you to my club coach Dylan Mulkey and my current college coaches Sam Shweisky and Pat Shawaryn for molding me into the player I am today."
USAV plans to assemble the team to train in August in Colorado Springs, Colorado, before competing at the North, Central America and Caribbean Volleyball Confederation (NORCECA) U21 Pan American Cup, also scheduled for Colorado Springs, Colorado. These plans are subject to change due to the regional and national responses to COVID-19.
