Julia Schner Honored as Ivy Women’s Volleyball Player of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. – After helping the Princeton University women's volleyball team earn a pair of wins over the weekend, senior Julia Schner was honored as the Ivy League Player of the Week Monday.
Schner helped the Tigers, who have won eight-consecutive matches, defeat Dartmouth College 3-0 (25-10, 25-22, 25-16) on Friday, October 1, and Harvard University 3-2 (25-20, 26-24, 25-16, 19-25, 15-13) Gymnasium on Saturday, October 2.
In Princeton's two wins, Schner finished with 17 kills on a .433 hitting percentage along with 15 total blocks. Against Dartmouth, she added nine kills and four blocks, before following with eight kills and 11 blocks against Harvard.
Schner's 1.31 blocks per set currently rank first in the Ivy League and 34rd in the nation, while her 51 total blocks also rank first in the Ivy League. Her .365 hitting percentage also ranks fourth in the conference.
Princeton will be in action next on Friday, October 8 at Cornell University (4-7, 0-3) at 7 p.m.
