Princeton Sweeps Cornell On Senior Night
November 13, 2021 | Women's Volleyball
The two seniors on the Princeton women's volleyball team went out in style Saturday evening at Dillon Gym. For the rest of the team, the 2022 season can't get here soon enough.
Princeton started out the night by saluting its two seniors, Julia Schner and Grace Klepetka. Then the Tigers went out and swept past Cornell 25-15, 25-20 25-22, completing a 6-0 weekend run over Columbia and Cornell to finish the season 10-4 in the Ivy League and in second place. The momentum from the weekend, as well as the 3-0 win over Yale last Saturday night, propels the team into the off-season with a sense of unfinished business for next year.
Princeton had three players in double figures in kills against Cornell, including Schner with 10 in her last match. The Tigers were led by Elena Montgomery with 15, and Olivia Schewe had 11 of her own.
Lindsey Kelly led the Tigers with 40 assists, and she also had 17 digs. Cameron Dames led the Tigers with 18 digs.
Princeton had won four of the last five Ivy League championships prior to this season, in which Brown won the league championship, sweeping Princeton along the way.
