No. 3 Princeton Wins Top-10 Match over Virginia to Open Season

Wins from Thomas Rosini, Cole Becker, Howe Cheng and Maaz Khatri at four, five, seven and eight gave third-ranked Princeton its first four points, and Alastair Cho had the clincher at nine with a sweep to clinch a 5-4 win for the Tigers over No. 8 Virginia to open the season on Saturday in Jadwin Gym.
The Tigers will host No. 14 Williams to close the weekend on Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
Rosini's and Khatri's wins came in sweeps as well, with Becker winning the final two games to take his match and Cheng holding off a comeback attempt to win in four as well after taking the first two games.
Virginia picked up sweeps at two and six and won in four games at three. At number one, Youssef Ibrahim rallied to force a fifth game against Aly Hussein before Hussein closed it out with an 11-8 win in the fifth game.
