The returners & newcomers: Princeton has a two-time All-America honoree in Youssef Ibrahim, plus returners from the team's fourth-place finish at the 2019 Potter Cup final lineup in fellow seniors Duncan Joyce, Howe Cheng and Cole Becker, and juniors Daelum Mawji and Maaz Khatri. Other returners include junior Kion Bruno and sophomores Alastair Cho, Karim Elbarbary, Will Ezratty and Arin Mukherjee, and the roster includes five freshmen in Zain Ahmed, Ahmed Hussein, James Kontulis, Gordon Lam and Thomas Rosini.
Against Virginia: Princeton and Virginia have met on the courts in two of the last three seasons, with Princeton winning the inaugural meeting in the 2017-18 season and Virginia winning the next year. The Cavaliers opened the season with three matches last week, winning at Navy before a trip north to Yale and Columbia, both wins for the Ivy teams.
Against Williams: Though the teams did not meet in the 2019-20 season, Williams has been a mostly annual opponent for the Tigers, with Princeton winning the last 37 meetings since Williams' last win in the series in the 1970-71 season. Before playing at Princeton, Williams will open its season in Philadelphia at Drexel and Penn on Saturday.
Looking ahead: Princeton will be away from competition after Sunday until a Dec. 5 visit to Rochester, currently ranked 10th in the country.
