"On behalf of the Princeton Athletics External Relations team, the men's basketball program, and our freelance partners, we are honored to be acknowledged by our peers with these awards," said Stacey Bunting-Thompson, Princeton's Senior Associate Director of Athletics/External Relations. "I am so proud of the truly collaborative effort by this group as we refreshed our approach to content creation this year, and we are excited to continue building this collective approach to ideation across all areas of the athletics brand heading into the 2021-22 seasons."
The Tigers were recognized most in the Motion Graphics/GIFs category where Princeton received three of the four awards.
A motion graphic highlighting the world-wide reach of men's basketball's #PrincetonPros was voted "Best In The Nation" in the Motion Graphics/GIFs category.
Second place in Motion Graphics/GIFs was awarded to Princeton for a new-look way to showcase the men's basketball team's "family portraits" this season.
Princeton also earned fourth place in Motion Graphics/GIFs for a unique look at its department-wide #PrincetonPros efforts as the Tigers at the time were the only Ivy school with alumni active in the NBA, NHL, NFL and MLB.
In the Video Highlight Feature category, Princeton took second place overall for "10 Days In March" -- a documentary-style series commemorating the 25th anniversary of the men's basketball team's epic 1996 win over UCLA in the NCAA Tournament.
Princeton secured second and third place in the Video Program/Athlete In-Depth Feature Category for profiles of men's basketball seniors Jerome Desrosiers and Ryan Schwieger to celebrate "Senior Day" for the duo.
In addition to the CoSIDA national awards, Princeton was also recently nominated for a 2021 Sports Video Group (SVG) College Sports Media Award, the third time in the past four years that the Tigers have been nominated for a SVG Award. This year, Princeton was the only Ivy League school nominated for a SVG Award, earning a nomination in the Outstanding Special Feature Category for the open to the 2021 Gary Walters '67 PVC Awards Banquet which celebrated the Class of 2021.
