SANTA CLARA, Calif. – No. 9 Men's Water Polo took care of business with two wins today during day two of the Santa Clara Invitational.
No. 9 Princeton 19, Fresno Pacific 10
The Tigers scored the final two goals of the first quarter from Keller and Pierce Maloney to take a 4-3 lead after eight minutes of action.
Even at 4-all, the Tigers scored five of the next six goals to jump ahead in front, 9-5, at halftime. Head coach Dustin Litvak's group began the second half with four-goal spurt to expand its advantage to eight, 13-5, and was not threatened the rest of the way.
Five different Tigers had at least two goals in the game highlighted by Keller Maloney's four tallies.
No. 9 Princeton 18, No. 16 Cal Baptist 7
It was another huge offensive outburst as the Tigers scored the six of the first seven goals of the contest. Princeton cruised to a 10-2 lead at halftime and was not pushed in the second half. Head coach Dustin Litvak's group had 10 different goal scorers in the win. The Tigers finish the West Coast trip against No. 3 Stanford tomorrow.
