Women’s Volleyball Downs Columbia 3-0, for Season Sweep

New York, N.Y. – The Princeton University women's volleyball team completed the season sweep over the Columbia Lions Friday night, dominating the match 3-0 (25-22, 25-14, 25-14).
The Tigers commanded the match offensively against Columbia while on the road in New York. Melina Mahood recorded 16 kills, Cameron Dames totaled 23 digs, and Lindsey Kelly ended the match with 38 assists.
Once the Tigers found their rhythm on the court, they could not be stopped. In the opening set, kills came from six different Tigers. One from Melina Mahood was able to end set one in favor of Princeton, closing it out 25-22.
The Tigers opened set two on a 6-0 run, and were able to stay ahead of the Lions throughout the remainder of the set. Thanks to Princeton's early lead, they were able to take control and close out the second set 25-14.
Entering the third set with a 2-0 lead, the Tigers played a back and forth contest against the Lions, but another clutch kill by Mahood was enough to spark a scoring surge for the Tigers to take the lead 13-8.
A final, match point, kill from Mahood allowed the Tigers to take the set 25-14, win the match, and down the Lions for the second time this season.
Princeton walks away with their 20th win this season, improving their record to 20-3.
