Nyherowo Omene Named to USA Volleyball Men’s U21 National Training Team

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – USA Volleyball has named Nyherowo Omene of the Princeton University men's volleyball team as of 21 athletes on its Men's U21 National Training Team.
Omene, along with the 20 other athletes, will participate in a training camp in Anaheim, California, from Friday, September 9, until Saturday, September 17. 12 members of that group will then compete in Havana, Cuba, at the 2022 U21 Men's Pan American Cup from Sunday, September 18, until Monday, September 26.
This is not Omene's first experience with USA Volleyball, as he also earned a spot on the Boys U19 National Training Team last year.
In the 2022 season, Omene led the Tigers in blocks (64) and blocks per set (0.72). He also ranked second on the team in service aces (25), and third in kills (171). On Saturday, February 12, he finished with a season-high 20 kills at the New Jersey Institute of Technology, and on Wednesday, March 23, in the Tigers' 3-0 (25-19, 25-12, 25-22) win over St. Francis College Brooklyn he tallied a season-best eight blocks. Omene's season-high in four service aces of cour came in Princeton's 3-2 (23-25, 25-18, 21-25, 25-23, 15-12) win at George Mason University on Saturday, February 26.
