No. 11 Men's Water Polo Drops Double OT Battle vs. No. 12 UC Irvine

DAVIS, Calif. – The No. 11 Princeton Tigers dropped a double overtime contest to the No. 12 UC Irvine Anteaters, 8-7.
Princeton began the contest with the first two goals, but UC Irvine quickly countered to tie the contest after eight minutes. Goals from Luke Johnston and Logan McCarroll in the second quarter put the Tigers in front, 4-2, at the break. Both teams exchanged goals before a tally from McCarroll right before the third stanza end of the half gave head coach Dustin Litvak's group a 6-3 lead at the break. UC Irvine rallied to tie the game at 6-all at the end of regulation. In the second portion of overtime, Yurian Quinones put the Tigers in front, 7-6, but the Anteaters tied the battle for a third time. UC Irvine won in sudden death double overtime.
The Tigers fall to 8-4 overall. They will begin Northeast Water Polo Conference action on Oct. 1 vs. MIT and Brown at DeNunzio Pool.
