Women's Squash Defeats Cornell 6-3 to Open CSA Howe Cup Tournament

Philadelphia, PA – The No. 3 Princeton Women's Squash team defeated No. 6 Cornell in the opening round of the College Squash Association's Howe Cup Tournament hosted in the Penn Squash Center.
The Tigers managed to outscore the Big Red 6-3, to take the victory in Philadelphia and earn another day of championship competition to move on to the semifinals.
Princeton gained wins over Cornell at positions No. 4 through No. 9 to defeat the Big Red on Friday afternoon.
Caroline Spahr (No. 4), Olivia Robinson (No. 7), and Katherine Glaser (No.8), all swept their Cornell opponents 3-0 to gain Tiger points.
Katherine Glaser outscored Ania LaDow 33-12 at the No. 8 position, dropping the least amount of points of the Tigers for the match.
India Stephenson at the No. 6 position and Abigail Schuster at the No. 9 position both won their matches in four games, 3-1, and Charlotte Bell at the No. 5 position defeated Lily Zelov 3-2 in an exciting five game contest.
Tied at 2-2, Bell dominated in game five to outscore Zelov 11-2 and secure the point for Princeton.
The Tigers will now advance to the semifinals on Saturday, and face the No. 2, Harvard Crimson at 2:30 p.m.
