Men's Volleyball Falls at No. 3 Penn State

University Park, PA - The Princeton men's volleyball team fell short to No. 3 Penn State, on Saturday afternoon in University Park.
The Tigers fell to the top ranked Nittany Lions in EIVA play, 0-3 (16-25, 21-25, 17-25).
Nyherowo Omene led the match in kills with 11, and Henry Wedbush continues to lead the team in assists, totaling 23. He also nabbed one block for the Tigers in Saturday's match.
Brady Wedbush led the team with two aces, and Nyherowo Omene also came up with nine digs for the Tigers.
Set One
The first set began as a back-and-forth contest between Penn State and Princeton. A Gavin Leising kill had the Tigers trailing by two at 8-10.
Penn State soon began to bring on the kills, taking a four-point scoring run to take the lead at 16-12.
Shortly after, another Lion scoring streak helped Penn State to take a lead, 19-13.
Although more Omene and Leising kills helped to close the gap, several Princeton errors combined with a determined Penn State offense led the Nittany Lions to take set one with a score of 25-16.
Set Two
Set two, began in another point for point pattern. A Brady Wedbush kill had the set tied up at 9-9, but a four point Penn State scoring streak put the Lions ahead 13-9.
Princeton continued to close the gap with kills from Ben Harrington, and Nyherowo Omene. Eventually an Omene kill would tie things up again 16-16.
Princeton and Penn State fought hard for each point scored. A Ben Harrington kill helped Princeton to just trail by one point, at 20-21.
Despite the Tigers' efforts, a three-point Lion scoring run combined with a set point kill from Penn State's Brett Wildman awarded the Nittany Lions set two, with a score of 25-21.
Set Three
Another back and forth sequence began set three. Several Penn State errors combined with a Ben Harrington Ace kept the Tigers just behind at 7-9.
A motivated Penn State team then took a six-point scoring run, to take a massive lead that Princeton struggled to catch up to, making the score 16-9 in favor of the Lions.
Kills from Omene, Henry Wedbush, and Harrington all contributed to the Tiger offense, but Penn State was able to close out set three following a Tiger service error to take the set 25-17, and defeat Princeton 3-0.
