Men's Squash Falls to Trinity in CSA Quarterfinals

Princeton, NJ -Â The Princeton Men's squash team fell to the Trinity College Bantams in the College Squash Association Team Championship Quarterfinals on Friday afternoon 3-5.

The Bantams took the victory on their home court to advance to Saturday's semifinal round.

Despite Federico Sosa's five game, 3-2 victory at the No. 9 position to start off scoring for the Tigers, Trinity took a 4-1 lead with wins from the No. 1, No. 3, No. 6 and No. 7 position. Â

Princeton saw another victory at the No. 2 position when Karim Elbarbary defeated his opponent 3-1, and at the No. 5 position where Alhassan Khalil took an exciting 3-2 victory to secure another Princeton point to put the Tigers just behind Trinity, 3-4.

The match came down to Gordon Lam and Julius Benthin at the No. 8 position. Both players alternated wins back and forth for a 2-2 tie, and despite a hard-fought effort from Lam, Benthing was able to clinch the match for Trinity with a final 11-4 win in the fifth game, and secure the Bantam win.

The ninth match was not played between Ahmed Hussein and Ahmed due to Trinity's clinch.Â
