Men's Volleyball Completes Weekend Sweep over Harvard with 3-1 Victory

Princeton, NJ - The Princeton men's volleyball team defeated Harvard in another 3-1, four-set victory, (24-26, 25-13, 26-24, 25-19) to complete the weekend sweep over the Crimson.
Ben Harrington led the match in kills (17), Brady Wedbush led the Tigers in aces (5). Nyherowo Omene totaled four blocks for the match, Matt Suh nabbed seven digs, and Henry Wedbush led the Tigers in assists with 40.
As a team, the Tigers totaled a .427 hitting percentage, that was on full display during tonight's win over the Crimson.
Set One
The Tigers played a point-for-point, opening set with the Crimson. Princeton took a 7-4 lead that featured kills from Nyhero Omene and Brady Wedbush to put the Tigers up, but Harvard managed to win back the lead at 13-11. The set remained a back-and-forth sequence, eventually tied at 20-20, then 22-22. Princeton put up a fight with more kills from Wedbush and Omene, but back to back Harvard points secured the set for the Crimson with a score of 26-24.
Set Two
Princeton fought back in the second set to take an early lead 7-3 lead over Harvard. Ben Harrington, Brady Wedbush, and Ryan Vena continued to contribute Tiger kills, and Princeton held the lead at 11-8. A five-point Tiger streak kept Princeton ahead 15-8, and more Crimson errors put Princeton up 20-12. Kills from Gavin Leising and Brady Wedbush, and a Ben Harrington ace helped to soar Princeton ahead to take set two, 25-13.
Set Three
Princeton was ready to take the lead in set three. The set saw another back-and-forth battle, tying at 4-4 and continuing up to 15-15. The set featured a five-point scoring surge from the Tigers that included back-to back aces from Brady Wedbush. Wedbush stepped up in a big way for the Tigers in set three. The set was tied yet again at 20-20, then 21-21, but Princeton outlasted the Crimson and score four points in a row to take set three 26-24 thanks to a kill and an ace from Brady Wedbush.
Set Four
The Tigers were ready to close out the match and win set four. Like the previous sets, the Crimson and Tigers battled head-to-head. The Tigers took a slim lead of 10-6 thanks to a James Hartley kill and Gavin Leising ace. The back and forth scoring pattern continued, and more kills from Brady Wedbush, James Hartley, and Ryan Vena helped the Tigers stay ahead at 19-15. With the Tigers up 24-19, Brady Wedbush ended the night with a match point kill to win set four, 25-19, and take the match victory 25-19.
It was a great weekend of wins for the Tigers who are now 2-2 in EIVA play.
