Andrew McMeekin Named Ivy Rookie Of The Week; Princeton Clinches Ivy Tournament Spot

The good news out of the Ivy League office continued Monday afternoon for the Princeton men's lacrosse team.

After Princeton's spot in the league tournament in May was confirmed Monday morning, the announcement came that Andrew McMeekin had been named the Ivy Rookie of the Week. McMeekin, a face-off speclalist, had his best day as a Tiger in the 17-7 win over Dartmouth, which came into the game as the top face-off team in the league.

McMeekin, who had won 12 face-offs all season prior to the Dartmouth game. won 11 of 23 face-offs on the day and had seven ground balls. He also won 6 of 9 in the first half as the Tigers built a 7-1 lead at the break. He also set the tone for the game by winning the first one cleanly and pinging a shot off the pipe.

Princeton will host Harvard Saturday at 1 on Senior Day.
