It's Official — Princeton Clinched Ivy Tournament Berth With Win Over Dartmouth

Ivy League Men's Lacrosse Tournament Ticket Information
The Princeton men's lacrosse team will still be playing in May.
As was reported here after the Tigers' 17-7 win over Dartmouth Saturday, there appeared to be no scenario in which Princeton would not have clinched a spot in the Ivy League tournament, pending official word from the league office. That word came Monday, when the league confirmed that Princeton was in fact the first team to clinch a spot in the field of four that will compete for the automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
The Ivy League tournament will be held at Columbia on May 5 and 7. The win over Dartmouth, coupled with Yale's win over Brown, gave Princeton the tiebreaker over Yale, Brown and Dartmouth. The Tigers can be anywhere from the top seed to the fourth seed.
Between now and then, Princeton finishes the regular season at home Saturday against Harvard at 1 and then at Cornell April 29 at noon. Regardless of what happens this weekend, the winner of the Princeton-Cornell game is assured of at least a share of the Ivy title. Also, if either Princeton or Cornell wins this weekend while the other loses, then the team that won its game would be assured of at least a share of the championship.
The current Ivy standings have Princeton at 3-1, Cornell at 3-1, Penn at 3-2, Harvard at 2-2, Yale at 2-3 and Brown and Dartmouth at 1-3. While Princeton is the only team to have officially clinched a spot in the tournament, the other six teams are all still in the running for the other three spots.
