Mulshine, White Named First-Team All-Ivy; Nine Tigers Honored In All
May 01, 2024 | Men's Lacrosse
Colin Mulshine and Marquez White do not overwhelm you with their stats. They do, however, overwhelm you with their impact, and that fact did not go unnoticed by the Ivy League's men's lacrosse coaches.
Â
Both Mulshine and White were named first-team All-Ivy League selections in voting of the league's eight head coaches, it was announced Wednesday afternoon. In all, Princeton had nine All-Ivy honorees, including five players who were second-team selections, with one honorable mention and one Academic All-Ivy pick.
Â
Mulshine, a junior starting defenseman, has nine caused turnovers and 17 groundballs, neither of which is near the top number on the team. What Mulshine does do, though, is regularly guard the other team's top attackman, including all three first-team All-Ivy selections (C.J. Kirst of Cornell, Matt Brandau of Yale, Sam King of Harvard), holding them to a total of five goals between them.
Â
White, a senior shortstick defensive midfielder, is great off the face-off wings and in transition, as well as being a top cover man for a shortie. He has four caused turnovers, which ranks fourth among Princeton's SSDMs, and 13 ground balls, which ranks third, but like Mulshine his numbers don't tell his story at all.

In addition to those two, Princeton's five second-team selections are defenseman Michael Bath, goalie Michael Gianforcaro, attackman Coulter Mackesy, face-off specialist Andrew McMeekin and midfielder Chad Palumbo.
Â
Bath leads the Ivy League in caused turnovers at 1.62 per game, and his 22 CTs for the year rank fourth in a season at Princeton. He also set the program single-game record with six against Rutgers.
Â
Gianforcaro was named second-team All-Ivy for the second straight year. His 10.00 goals-against average leads the Ivy League, and he became the first Princeton goalie to score a goal in 16 years when he did so against Penn.
Â
Mackesy leads Princeton in goals (34) and assists (18) and is tied with Jesse Hubbard for the most goals by a Princeton player ever through his junior season (117). Mackesy is also a Tewaaraton Award final 25 Nominee.
Â
McMeekin has a .551 face-off percentage, which is the best by a Princeton player who has taken more than half the team's draws in 25 years. He also leads Division I FOGOs with seven goals.
Â
Palumbo went from scoring two goals a year ago to having 19 goals and 10 assists this year, which gives him more goals than any other Princeton sophomore who ever had two or fewer as a freshman. Palumbo is the only Princeton middie to have started all 13 games and is the first sophomore middie at Princeton to be in double figures in goals and assists in nine years.

Nate Kabiri was named an honorable mention All-Ivy selection after a freshman season that has seen him put up 29 goals (second-best all-time at Princeton by a freshman) and 17 assists for 46 points (fourth among Princeton freshmen).
Â
Sean Cameron, who has 14 goals and three assists, was named as the team's Academic All-Ivy League selection.
