Rather than making any dramatic runs, the Tigers were able to consistently outpace the Knights on offense, before Vaccaro made the final two kills to call the set, 25-22.
Blocks made the difference in set two, as the Tigers made six throughout the set to force attack errors from the Knights. Ryan Vena and Wedbush each recorded one block solo, while Tristan Whitfield notched five block assists on the night. A 7-1 run early helped Princeton get ahead, Ryan Vena also recorded two service aces in the set to help keep the Tigers ahead, before the set would come to a close with two more confident kills from Omene.
Looking for the sweep, Princeton started the third set strong, making a 9-3 run out of the gate to build up a lead. With Omene and Andrew Werner each contributing a few kills, the Tigers found themselves just six points away from the win.
Omene made a service ace to bring the score to 20-10. Continuing to serve, he made another. And another. Omene went on to make five aces in a row, bringing the Tigers within one point before Whitfield would make the final kill to secure the Tiger victory.
Omene, who leads the EIVA in career service aces, now stands at 110 total.
