Hill's Sparkling Day Paces Women's Basketball Over Cornell, 72-39

PRINCETON – Parker Hill's sparkling day led the Princeton Women's Basketball Team over the Cornell Big Red, 72-39, at Jadwin Gym.
Hill just missed a double-double with a career-high 18 points and nine boards, adding two steals as well. Ashley Chea secured 14 points, seven dimes and five caroms while Fadima Tall added 12 points, five rebounds and two swipes in the win.
Princeton ripped off eight straight points in the first quarter to jump out to an 12-4 advantage. The Tigers led by 12 after the first 10 minutes, 23-11.
After Cornell got within eight, head coach Carla Berube's unit went on a 9-0 run to double up the Big Red, 34-17, with 2:38 to go. In front, 38-19, as the second half got underway, the Tigers stretched their lead to as large as 29 in the third quarter and were not threatened the rest of the game.
The Tigers scored 44 points in the paint, five more than the entire Big Red total. The home team also recorded 23 points off 19 Cornell turnovers and 24 bench points in the victory.
Princeton was won 30 of the last 31 games against Cornell. The Tigers welcome Harvard to Jadwin Gym next Saturday (Jan. 11). Tipoff is set for 2 p.m.
