HAMILTON, N.Y.- The 2024-25 season has come to an end for the Princeton women's hockey team in the quarterfinals of the ECAC playoffs.
Colgate struck in the first period on a goal by Alexia Aubin to give the home team an early lead.
Princeton went to the locker room at the period break leading in shots on goal 18-11 but were unable to find the back of the net.
Five minutes into the second, Princeton was forced to go on the defensive to try and kill a penalty for body checking. Emma Pais received the pass from Kristýna Kaltounkova and shot the puck past Princeton keeper Jennifer Olnowich to bump the Raiders' advantage to two goals.
The Tigers were able to keep Colgate from scoring in the third as they worked to get back into the game.
Olnowich was pulled from the goal with 4:28 left on the clock and just 15 seconds later, the Tigers were on the power play.
Princeton fired off shot after shot before Rosie Klein finally got the puck past Hannah Murphy to make it a one goal game.
The Tigers kept up the pressure, but could not finish the late comeback. Princeton finished the season with a record of 18-12-2 and went 11-9-2 in ECAC play.
