PRINCETON, N.J. – Henry Wedbush was named EIVA Player of the Year and five Tigers earned All-EIVA honors as the league announced its postseason awards on Tuesday.
Sam Shweisky was also named EIVA Coach of the Year.
Wedbush was named Player of the Year after an outstanding season in which the senior led Princeton to an EIVA regular season title and a regular season record of 14-10 (10-2 conf.).
He made a team-high 759 assists for an average of 9.37 a set, which put him third in the league and 24th nationally.
Wedbush has been a critical piece of Princeton's success, helping guide the team to one of the best defenses in the NCAA. The Tigers rank fifth nationally in blocks per set (2.55) and 13th in opponent hitting percentage (0.218).
Shweisky and the Princeton coaching staff were unanimously selected as Coach of the Year. Shweisky, in his 16th year as Head Coach at Princeton, also received the honor in 2019 and 2010.
Shweisky led the Tigers to EIVA titles in 2022 and 2019, now entering the 2025 EIVA tournament as the No. 1 seed on their home court.
Four Tigers received All-EIVA honors, with Nyherowo Omene, Ryan Vena and Wedbush making the First Team, first-year Mason Rice making the Second Team, and fellow first-year Roan Alviar earning Honorable Mention distinction.
Princeton will take the court again on Thursday as they begin their 2025 EIVA tournament bid in Dillon Gym. With the first serve set for 5 p.m., Princeton will take on the winner of Charleston and George Mason in the semifinal.
