Full Schedule
PRINCETON, N.J. – Princeton University women's rugby Head Coach Josie Ziluca announced the Tigers' 2025 schedule Wednesday. The 2025 season will be Princeton's fourth as a varsity program and is highlighted by three home matches at Rickerson Field at Haaga House.
"Heading into our fourth varsity season, the team is equipped to push boundaries and continue to impress all who are watching," said Ziluca. "We have a special group of rugby players who are driving themselves forward in their trainings, knowledge of the game, and most importantly their relationships within the group. We have an exciting fall schedule, with an opportunity to compete for post season play. Our league, NIRA, has introduced a quarterfinals format in the run to the championship this year. Before it was straight to semifinals based on season rankings. Our team is poised to fight for our opportunities to make that quarterfinal and show our peers that we can be a consistent competitor in post season play.Â
Â
The journey to what may happen this season is based on last fall and the taste of victory we all enjoyed. The beautiful thing about hard-earned wins is that they force both reflection and optimism; a look at how it happened and a wanting for more. Our team played a lot of rugby last year, which led to massive amounts of learning and self-awareness. If we can bring together our grit, consistency, and joyful resilience then amazing things are going to happen."
Â
The Tigers are coming off a historic 2024 season, that saw the team win its first match as a varsity program on Sept. 21 with a 59-0 sweep of Bowdoin. Princeton's second varsity win came on Oct. 26 with a 49-12 win over Mount St. Mary's.
The season opens on Aug. 30 in Brookville, New York, against Long Island University before the Tigers host Dartmouth, who were NIRA runner-up in 2024, in their home opener on Sept. 13.
A neutral site match is up next, with Princeton taking on Lindenwood on Sept. 21 in Fairfield, Connecticut, on the campus of Sacred Heart. The Tigers then return home to host Navy on Sept. 27.
A pair of road matches follow; the Tigers travel to Charlotte, North Carolina, to take on Queens on Oct. 11 then Providence, Rhode Island, to face Brown on Oct. 18. Regular season play wraps up at home on Oct. 25 against defending NIRA National Champion Harvard.
