Men’s Water Polo Falls To UCSD In Overtime At Overnght Invitational

LOS ANGELES, Calif.- The Princeton men's water polo team headed out to California for the MPSF Overnght Invitational and began the tournament with a matchup against No. 14 UCSD.
In a back and forth matchup where the Tigers struggled to get things going, Princeton fell to the Tritons 14-13 in overtime.
Princeton 13, UCSD 14
The Tigers fell behind early 2-0 in the contest but were able to knot things up at 2-2 on goals from Enrique Nuño and Luke Johnston.
The rest of the matchup continued with both teams trading goals as neither squad was able to break away.
The halftime score stood at 7-6 in favor of the Tritons, but Princeton was able to make up the difference with a four-goal third quarter.
Both goalkeepers stood tall in the cage, each allowing only one goal before heading to overtime.
Again the Tigers and the Tritons scored one apiece in the first overtime period, with Princeton's coming from Logan McCarroll on his third tally of the day.
UCSD was able to pull in front by two in the second overtime period, but Tas Palcza scored quickly to again make it a one goal game. Princeton, however was able to even it up one last time as it fell to UCSD 14-13.
