October 17, 2026 | Women's Volleyball
PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton women's volleyball team wins its third consecutive game on Saturday night in a 3-0 sweep against Dartmouth.
Princeton (7-8 overall) improved their Ivy League play to 5-2, while Dartmouth (7-10 overall) is at 1-6.
How it Happened
Tiger Sydney Draper made a kill as the first point of the game to ignite Princeton's 8-0 scoring run early in the first set. Dartmouth slowly closes the gap to within one at 12-11 after a Maddie LaFata kill. The Tigers refuse to give up the lead, gaining two more off of a Big Green service error and an attack error at 14-11. Natalie Surges hammered back-to-back service aces to give the Tigers a 16-11 advantage.
The squads each exchanged a few points until Shelby Burriss heated up and scored three Tiger points to extend the lead to 22-15. Two consecutive Ashley Duckworth kills gave the Tigers match point and Princeton put away the first set 25-17 after a Dartmouth attack error.
Dartmouth made the first move in the second set, scoring the first two points. Both squads trade points for the majority of the set, and the Tigers head into the media timeout down one at 15-14. After regrouping, Ashtyn Sims ties it 15-15 with a kill, kickstarting a four-point run for Princeton to make it 18-15.
The Big Green fought back to tie it 18-18, and from there it was back-and-forth between the teams. McNair, Harrington, Burriss, and Sims all peppered in kills between Dartmouth scoring. The Tigers were match point after a Big Green service error, and Sims closes out set two with a kill at 25-23
Princeton starts the third set up 2-0, hungry to put the game away. Dartmouth gets its first lead of the set at 4-3 after a Princeton attack error, but that doesn't last once Erin McNair and Shelby Burriss get going. The pair took turns scoring five consecutive points for the Tigers to make it 8-5, forcing a Big Green timeout.
The Tigers continue to dominate the third, as Ava Harrington batted down three kills to make it 13-17. A Dartmouth attack error gives Princeton its biggest lead of the set at 20-12. The Big Green tried to play catch up, but the Tigers roared back when Shelby Burriss found the floor for the eighth time to bring them to match point. Princeton secured the 3-0 sweep at 25-18 when Dartmouth committed a ball handling error.
