Kabiri, Croddick Honored By Ivy League; Tigers Up To No. 3
March 02, 2026 | Men's Lacrosse
A big Friday and Sunday led to a big Monday for the Princeton men's lacrosse team.
Â
Those who vote in the awards and polls that come out on Monday were clearly impressed by the way the Tigers took down Top 10 opponents Syracuse (11-7 Friday) and North Carolina (11-9 Sunday) on Sherrerd Field. As result, Princeton swept the Ivy League Player of the Week Awards and vaulted to near the top of the three major polls.
Â
The last surprising news of all was that Ryan Croddick was named the Ivy Defensive Player of the Week. How could he not be, after having 39 saves while allowing 16 goals in the two games combined? First Croddick made 14 saves against Syracuse, and he followed that with an even more spectacular showing Sunday, with 25 saves against UNC, who came into the game ranked No. 1 in the country. Croddick's 25 saves were the most by a Princeton goalie since 1985.
Â
Nate Kabiri took the Offensive Player of the Week Award after his five-goal, four-assist weekend, one that began with two goals and an assist against the Orange and the continued with three goals and three assists against UNC.
Â
Â
Princeton will host Rutgers in the 102nd meeting for the Meistrell Cup Saturday at noon. Rutgers is ranked No. 12 by USA Lacrosse and No. 15 by Inside Lacrosse. Â
