Princeton Ranked Eighth In United Soccer Coaches Preseason Poll

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton men's soccer team was ranked eighth in the United Soccer Coaches' preseason poll, announced Tuesday.

The ranking matches the Tigers' postseason ranking after a 2025 that saw Princeton win the Ivy League regular season, going 7-0-0 with zero goals conceded, as well as the Ivy League Tournament.

Princeton led the nation in RPI for a majority of last season, entering the NCAA Tournament seeded third overall - the highest seed ever by an Ivy League team. Princeton ultimately exited the tournament in the second round, falling at home to Duke, 2-1, in a razor-thin match.

Heading into this season, the Tigers return several key figures, including goalkeeper Andrew Samuels. A national leader in goals-against average, save percentage and shutouts, the senior captain was already named to the USC Goalkeepers to Watch List ahead of this preseason.

Joining him on the defensive side will be Roka Tsunehara, who was also named to the USC Defenders to Watch List yesterday.

The Tigers will open the season at home on August 28 as they host Villanova.
