PRINCETON, N.J. (1/24/16) - Princeton returns to the ice after an 18-day hiatus for semester exams, hosting American International on Tuesday, Jan. 26. The opening puck drops at 7 p.m., at Hobey Baker Rink.
EYE ON THE TIGERSPrinceton returns to the ice after an 18-day hiatus for semester exams. The Tigers are 4-12-2 overall, having earned two ties their last time out against No. 20 Rensselaer and Union on Jan. 7 & 8. Freshman Ryan Kuffner leads the offense with 13 points on four goals and a team-best nine assists. Sophomore David Hallisey has 10 points on three goals and seven assists. Freshman Max Véronneau has tallied the most goals, seven, and adds two helpers. Sophomore Eric Robinson and junior Ryan Siiro add eight points apiece. Junior goaltender Colton Phinney has started every game. He has a .925 save percentage and a 2.96 goals against average.
SCOUTING THE YELLOW JACKETS
American International is 5-17-2 overall and 5-12-2 in Atlantic Hockey. AIC hasn’t played a non-conference game since Oct. 24, a 5-3 loss at Penn State. This past weekend, the Yellow Jackets went 0-1-1 in a home-and-home series with Bentley; losing 6-1 and rebounding with a 5-5 tie. Junior Austin Orszulak is the team’s leading scorer with seven goals and nine assists for 16 points. Sophomore Bryant Christian has six goals and eight assists for 14 points, while classmate Jackson Dudley has 13 points on six goals and seven assists. Senior Chris Porter, sophomore Johno May and freshman Shawn McBride are also in double digits with 11 points apiece. Sophomore Alex Murray has started in 19 games in goal and has a .905 save percentage and a 3.62 GAA. Junior Hunter Leisner has started the other five games and has an .839 save percentage and a 6.14 GAA.
THE PRINCETON/AIC SERIES
Princeton holds a 7-2 lead in the all-time series with AIC. The teams first met in February 1953, and last met January 2005. Every meeting in the series has been played at Hobey Baker Rink.
