Pawel Kadlubowski, a former starter on the Junior Polish National Team, is an assistant coach on the Princeton men's volleyball staff and brings a wealth of international experience to the Tigers.
Kadlubowski, a native of Warsaw, Poland, played with the Junior Polish National Team from 1983 through 1987, and he won several club championships during that period. As a member of Club MDK Warszawa, Kadlubowski was part of the winning team in the 1984u-18 Polish National Championship; he also won two titles in the U-20 national championships as a member of the same club.
“Pawel has been with Princeton volleyball since my first week on the job," head coach Sam Shweisky said. "He has been with me through thick and thin, through good times and tough times. Pawel has played and coached at the highest international level and brings a wealth of knowledge to our program. He runs practice sessions and commands the teams respect as co-head coach which is really what he is.
"Pawel is one of the main reasons for our success over the past seasons," Shweisky said. "In 2013, we led the EIVA in blocking and that is 100% due to Pawel and his emphasis on blocking with the guys. I am grateful to Pawel and know that this program is where it is today thanks to his help.”
He also played pro volleyball with clubs like AZS-AWF Warszawa and Stilon Gorzow Wlk throughout the 1980s. He eventually made his way to the United States and competed for clubs in both New York and Kansas City.
Kadlubowski also has extensive coaching experience, ranging from junior clubs in Poland to an assistant coaching position with the women's program at Drexel. He currently coaches at West Windsor-Plainsboro South High School, where he also works as a gym teacher.
