Cody Chrusciel, who joined the Princeton University athletic department in September 2015, serves as Assistant Director of Athletics for Multimedia and Broadcasting. He oversees Princeton’s live radio broadcasts and game productions for ESPN+ and regional sports networks NBC Sports Philadelphia and SNY while producing creative video content and managing the H.G. Levine Broadcast Center. Additionally, he handles play-by-play for Princeton football, baseball, and men’s lacrosse on The Ivy League on ESPN and the Princeton Sports Network from Learfield.
Chrusciel came to Princeton after spending three years as Director of Broadcasting at the University of Massachusetts. During his time in Amherst, he managed the UMass Sports Network and produced the department’s television show, UMass Sports Insider, which aired on Comcast SportsNet New England and Fox College Sports Atlantic. On-air, he called play-by-play for UMass hockey, women’s basketball, and men's lacrosse and handled sideline reporting duties for Minutemen football.
Chrusciel also boasts five years of minor league baseball broadcasting and media relations experience with the Tennessee Smokies (Chicago Cubs Double-A affiliate) and New Jersey Jackals. He began his career in college athletics at Army, where he called Black Knights men's lacrosse and oversaw the video production department at West Point.
A Garden State native who hails from Wayne, Chrusciel earned bachelor's degrees in broadcast journalism and radio/TV/film from Rowan University in 2009 before completing his M.S. in Sport Management at the University of Massachusetts in 2011. He is an adjunct professor in the College of Communication and Creative Arts at Rowan.
Chrusciel and his wife, Justine, reside in Mount Holly with their dog, Penelope. They volunteer and foster with South Jersey-based MatchDog Rescue.
