PRINCETON, N.J.-- - The Princeton University sprint football team (1-2, 0-1 CSFL) knows the task in front of it. The Tigers, who had gone three years without winning a football game before last year's 21-20 overtime thriller over Navy, can jump into the league race with a victory Friday night at Cornell.
Princeton opened its season with a 12-7 win over Cornell at home, but has yet to score since. Penn defeated the Tigers 28-0 at Franklin Field and Army defeated the Tigers 31-0 last Sunday at Riverfront Park in Newark during the 21st annual Pride Bowl.
Despite the two losses, Princeton is far from out of the league race. With three games remaining, including a rematch with Penn, a win this weekend would keep the Tigers within striking distance of the crown.
