Princeton Sprint Football Drops 2015 Home Opener to Army

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton University sprint football team fell to 0-2 on the season after suffering an 86-0 loss to the United States Military Academy.
Scoring early and often, Army netted 23 points in the first and second quarters to take a 46-0 halftime lead. Freshman quarterback Brady Miller got the scoring started with a 14-yard touchdown pass to Justin Hall. After Zach Trainor sacked Chad Cowden in the endzone for a safety, Army covered 45 yards in three plays, going up 16-0 on a 5-yard Miller TD pass to Kevin O'Brien.
Going 61 yards on five plays on their next possession, the Black Knights extended their margin on a 7-yard Keegan West touchdown run. Quay Gilmore made it 30-0 early in the second quarter with a 4-yard touchdown scamper before Miller threw his third TD of the day with 6:54 left in the half. With under a minute to go, Gilmore caught a 23-yard touchdown pass before another Army safety made it 46-0.
Tacking on 40 points in the second half, the Black Knights rolled up 499 yards of total offense. Brady Miller finished 5-for-7 for 55 yards and three touchdowns, while Keegan West completed seven of his 11 pass attempts for 128 yards and a score. Jaylen Collier led an Army rushing attack that racked up 288 yards, gaining 69 yards on five carries (13.8 ypc) with a touchdown. Patrick Riley had 48 yards on seven touches (6.9 ypc) and two touchdowns.
Facing pressure for most of the evening, Cowden completed just 9-of-20 pass attempts for 81 yards while getting sacked seven times. Patrick Yu was the Tigers' leading receiver, hauling in six catches for 51 yards. Ian Lawrie gained 81 yards on kick returns, while making a team-high 5.5 tackles (4 solo). Dominic Olivera made five tackles (4 solo), while Mark Nowicki had 4.5 stops.
