PRINCETON, N.J. - In a game that featured just about everything, the Princeton Tigers sprint football team suffered a tough season ending loss to the Penn Quakers by a score of 49-12 in front of 505 dedicated fans at Weaver Stadium. David Liu (Jr., San Marino, Calif.) caught a touchdown pass and threw for one as Princeton fell to 1-5 overall and 0-4 in the CSFL. Penn ran its record to 5-1 overall and 3-1 in the CSFL.
The Penn attack was led by Tim Ortman all night. Ortman had four touchdowns—three rushing, one receiving—and 226 yards rushing in an all-around night.
Princeton got on the scoreboard with Liu's touchdown catch. Liu took a Geoff Gasperini (Jr., Richmond, Va.) pass and scampered 52 yards to paydirt. The Tigers were outmanned all night by the Quakers as the visitors poured on the yards through air and on the ground.
Liu threw his touchdown pass to Mike Piazza (Jr., Washington, D.C.) on the back of the endzone with six seconds remaining in the game.
Tonight's game featured just about everything, including a blocked punt, two fake punts, a fight, a Fumble Rooski play and a Statue of Liberty play.
