UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The host Nittany Lions finished with 795.5 points overall, while Princeton finished in first place with 840 points. Other teams competing included Brown, Virginia Tech, St. Bonaventure, University at Buffalo, Yale and Universtiy of Maryland-Baltimore County.
Several meet records were set this weekend at Penn State by some talented swimmers from Princeton. Jenny Macaulay set a record in teh 200 breaststroke while Kate Conroy set a new record in the 200 back. Val Kukla set a new standard of excellence in the 500 free with a mark of 4:58.38.
The Tigers also swept the one meter diving competition with Katherine Mattison taking first and Page Pearcy taking second. Molly Seto, Yen Tay and Meghan Donahue swept places 1-2-3 in the 50 freestyle.
Incorperated in the invitational was a dual meet with Ivy foe Brown. The Tigers have finished second to the Bears the last four years at the Ivy Championships. This weekend, it was all about the Tigers, they won 179-121.
The Tigers take on Villanova in dual meet action this weekend. The diving competition will take place on Friday at DeNunziop Pool while the rest of the meet will take place on Saturday at Villanova.
