Tigers Hold Onto First To Conclude Day Three of Ivy League Championship

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Day three was another packed day for Princeton's women's swimming & diving team as the Tigers continue to sit in first place in the team standings. The team won one event and earned an automatic NCAA qualifier while setting both a pool and Ivy Meet record.
Princeton has 948 points to sit atop the standings while Harvard is second with 744.5 and Yale third with 606.
Heidi Smithwick placed second in the 100 butterfly, with key points added by Edie Simecek placing sixth, Sophia Sunwoo placing seventh and Veronique Rossouw placing 13th.
Eleanor Sun won the 400 individual medley in 4:05.55, setting pool and meet records and qualifying for the NCAA Championships. Chloe Kim and Sophie Segerson followed in second and third.
Savannah Skow took third in the 200 freestyle, while Eliza Brown scored in the 100 breaststroke taking seventh. In the 100 backstroke, Sabrina Johnston placed third and Delaney Herr, fourth. The Tigers quartet - Delaney Herr, Eliza Brown, Skow and Sunwoo - also finished third in the 400 medley relay.
Competition resumes today with prelims beginning at 11:00 AM, followed by finals at 6:00 PM.
