PRINCETON, N.J. - The Princeton Tigers were denied their first win of the year when Dartmouth defeated the Tigers' 4-0 in the Ivy opener this afternoon at Princeton Stadium.
Princeton drops to 0-4-1 overall, 0-1 in Ivy Competition, while Dartmouth improves to 4-0, 2-0 in league play.
The Big Green got on the board early when Chris Dedicik scored his first of three goals in the first half as he shot a bullet passed Princeton keeper Keith Lucas (Sr., Randolph, NJ) 19:29 into the game. Dedicik increased Dartmouth's lead on back-to-back goals in the 32nd and 36th minutes to take three goals lead into the break.
Princeton came out with more intensity in the second half, but could not capitalize on offensive chances. Brad Christof rounded out the scoring at the 62:47 mark on a shot past Tiger keeper Michael Cohen (So., Union, NJ).
Cohen prevented a larger Dartmouth win by making incredible saves in the second half, including a one-on-one late in the game.
Princeton returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 30, as they travel to area-rival Rider. Game time is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
