One-Timers
Home sweep home -- Princeton swept these travel partners last season when it defeated Rensselaer 4-3 in overtime and Union 5-0. Home sweep home II -- The last time Princeton hosted an ECAC weekend, it swept Colgate and Cornell.
No consolation -- Princeton lost the season series to Rensselaer last year 2-1. Both teams won at home in the regular season, and Rensselaer won the ECAC consolation game 6-4.
Conquering the Union -- Princeton's last shutout was a 5-0 victory over Union in the season finale last season. Nick Rankin '99 made 25 saves in the win.
Conquering the Union II -- Union is the only ECAC team that Princeton owns a better-than-.500 all-time record against (12-6-3). Don Cahoon has more wins against Union (10) than any league team except Colgate (12).
52 pick up -- Friday night's contest will showcase a match-up between dueling 52s. Rensselaer's is Brad Tapper, who leads the league with nine ECAC goals. Princeton's is Kirk Lamb, who leads the league with 11 ECAC assists.
Five alive -- Goaltender Dave Stathos has risen to the occasion in ECAC games. In his last five league starts, the sophomore has a 1.61 goals-against average and a .948 save percentage. He is 4-1-0 in those games and hasn't allowed more than two goals in any of the games.
Par for the course -- Sophomore Brad Parsons has been spectacular this season, especially on the power play. Like teammate Chris Corrinet, Parsons has seven goals overall and five on the power play. Both marks are team-highs.
More for Morin -- Senior Benoit Morin was the only multiple-point scorer in last weekend's loss to UMass-Lowell (1g,1a). He is the active career leader for Princeton in goals (27), assists (37), points (64), power-play goals (12), penalty minutes (275).
Hold your fire! -- In five of Princeton's six wins, the Tigers have taken fewer shots than their opponents.
OK in OT -- Princeton has lost only once in its last 19 overtime contests. Its last win came against Rensselaer during the final league weekend last season. Jeff Halpern '99 beat Joel Laing for the winner.
On the road again -- Princeton will play its next two weekends on the road. The Tigers will travel to Canton, N.Y., for a series with Clarkson and St. Lawrence next weekend and then will travel to Albany, N.Y., for a weekend rematch with Union and Rensselaer.
A Capital gain -- Junior Chris Corrinet, selected by the Washington Capitals in the 1998 Entry Draft, leads Princeton with seven goals and 18 points.
Finishing strong -- Princeton's 2-1 loss to Brown on Jan. 7 was the first time in 46 opportunities that the Tigers have lost a game it led after two periods. The last time it happened was Jan. 12, 1996, when the Tigers saw a 2-1 lead vanish in a 5-3 loss at Vermont.
Lamb-inated -- Junior Kirk Lamb leads the team with 13 assists and scored a crucial goal in the 4-2 win over Harvard.

ECAC update -- Due to an investigation into hazing allegations within the team, Vermont has decided to cancel the remainder of its season. As a result, the league has been forced to make changes in both league rankings and schedules.
League rankings for postseason positions will be determined by winning percentage, not team points. All previous results against Vermont, including Princeton's 6-4 loss in Burlington earlier this season, will stand.
In order to ensure fairness for the Catamounts' travel partner, Dartmouth, the league has altered its schedule. One such change includes Princeton, a game scheduled for Sat., Feb. 19 at Baker Rink has been changed to Sun., Feb. 20 at Baker Rink at 2 p.m. The game against Vermont, scheduled for Fri., Feb. 18, has been cancelled.
Ticket holders for both games will be notified by the ticket office within the next week regarding procedures for refunds or exchanges. Please see the league release at the end of this note package.
