Schenectady, N.Y. - There is something about the ECAC television cameras that gets this team going. The Princeton University men's hockey team busted out of its five-game losing skid with a 6-1 victory over Union Friday night in the ECAC Game of the Week. It was the highest regular-season offensive output for Princeton since the Tigers scored seven goals against Dartmouth last season. That game was also the ECAC Game of the Week.
Chris Corrinet got the Tigers rolling early with a goal at 1:02 of the first period. It came off assists from Ethan Doyle and Brad Parsons. That trio would have its names all over the scoresheet by the end of the night.
Union evened the score at 1-1 when Clark Jones scored his ninth goal of the season. Determined to regain the momentum, Princeton forced the issue back at Brandon Snee, Union's talented goaltender. Trevor Beaney fired a shot that Snee redirected to Josh Roberts, who scored his fourth goal of the season just 31 seconds after Jones' goal. Kirk Lamb increased the lead to 3-1 with a slap shot score on the power play. Just over a minute later, Corrinet scored his team-high ninth goal of the season. The final period was highlighted by goals from Shane Campbell and Ethan Doyle. The line of the Chris Corrinet (2g), Ethan Doyle (1g, 2a) and Brad Parsons (3a) combined for eight of Princeton's season-high 16 points on the night. Dave Stathos made 25 saves while Nate Nomeland made three saves in the final three minutes.
