CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - After six events, the Princeton women's swimming and diving team is in first place at the Ivy League championships in Cambridge, Mass. The Tigers have 256 points followed by defending champion Brown with 214 and Harvard with 188 points.
Princeton has the early lead thanks to depth in the diving team. Sophomore Katherine Mattison won the one-meter event with a point total of 403.50. Danielle Stramandi was second with a total of 394.50. Page Pearcy finished fifth while Kristy Wilson and Erin Lutz finished seventh and eighth.
The 400-medley relay team of Kate Conroy, Jenny Macaulay, Molly Seto and Yen Tay finished second with a time of 3:49.58.
In the morning session, Tiger sophomore Val Kukla broke her old school record in the 500 freestyle. She finished second in the finals with a time of 4:56.16, earning 17 points for the team.
The competition continues through Saturday at Harvard.
