CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - It finally happened for the Class of 2000. The Tigers won their ninth ever Ivy League championship with a 794-point effort throughout the weekend. The win ends a four-year stronghold on the championship by Brown. Princeton had finished second to the Bears the last three seasons.
Jenny Macaulay (So., Otobicoke, Ont.) finished first in the 200 breast with a time of 2:17.11. Erin Lutz (Jr., Hopewell, N.J.) finished first in the three-meter diving with a pool-record point total of 530.25. The second place finisher had only 459 points.
The Tigers end the weekend with five individual champions and a relay championship.
Several Princeton swimmers await their fate as the national championship meet approaches in several weeks.
