Princeton Defeats William & Mary To Win Stihl Tournament

NORFOLK, Va. - Princeton junior Mike Nugent scored two goals to lead the Tigers to a 2-1 victory over William & Mary and were winners of the Stihl Tournament Championship. After William & Mary's Philip Hucles opened the scoring at 3:14 of the first half, Nugent banged in two goals just 4:27 apart, and that was all the Tigers needed to defeat the Tribe Sunday afternoon.
Princeton goalkeeper Jason White made two saves in the win, and was named to the Stihl All-Tournament team along with his teammates Graeme Rein and Nugent.
The Tigers defeated Old Dominion Friday 2-1. Old Dominion defeated Georgetown in overtime Sunday to capture a second place finish. Princeton (3-0,0-0) will take on Rider University on Wednesday, September 20th at 4 p.m.
