Princeton, N.J. - Princeton dropped its second game in a row with a 2-0 loss to Rutgers in Princeton Stadium. The Tigers definitely had their chances, but could not stop Rutgers' talented forward Dennis Ludwig. Ludwig scored the game-winning goal on a shot that deflected off Bob Nye's posterior and redirected by a stunned Jason White. Jeff Gros assisted on the goal, and sent a beautiful long ball to Ludwig that the forward put away for the goal at 78:59. The goal was Ludwig's eighth of the season. Princeton possessed the ball for a good portion of the game and Mike Nugent had his share of scoring chances. Early in the first half Nugent sent one off the crossbar, and he was repeatedly robbed by Rutgers goaltender Ricky Zinter. Zinter played a whale of game recording five crucial saves as he posted his fifth shutout of the season, and Rutgers forward Dustin Sheppard showed tremendous foot skills throughout the contest. Princeton's Jason White made four saves, and despite giving up two goals, played a pretty solid game. Matt Behncke was a stalwart in the midfield for the Tigers as he registered five shots and set up numerous scoring chances. The loss drops the Tigers to 4-2 and they play next at Columbia at 11 a.m. on Saturday September 30th.
