Ithacha, N.Y. - The Keith Wadsworth era got off to an inauspicious start as Princeton dropped its first game of the season to Cornell in overtime by the score of 16-13. The Tigers rushed and passed for more yards than their opponents from Ithaca, but Princeton's five turnovers proved to be the decisive statistic from Friday night's contest.
Princeton jumped on the board first on Geoff Casperini 6-yard touchdown pass to Ki Moon, and then went up 13-0 after a 27-yard touchdown run by Matt Hall and a missed extra-point. Cornell countered when they recovered a fumble in the Princeton endzone to make the score 13-6 as they also were unable to convert their point after. Later, the Big Red scored on a 7-yard touchdown run by Charlie Tam, which helped to push the game into overtime. In the extra session Cornell converted a field goal to win their first game of the season.
