Women's Swimming and Diving Defeats Dartmouth 161-128

HANOVER, N.H. - The Princeton women's swimming and diving team defeated Dartmouth 161-128 on Sunday winning 10 out of 16 events, sweeping the top three places in the 400 IM, 100 free, 50 back, 50 breaststroke and the 50 free. The Tigers improve to 5-0 on the season.
Princeton swept the 400 IM with freshman Stephainie Wright leading the way with a time of four minutes, 39.16 seconds. Margaret Hirce (4:41.46) and Kristen Szumera (4:52.13) were second and third. Valerie Kukla led Princeton to a sweep of the 100 free with a time of 53.51. Megan Donahue was second (53.70) and Kate Conroy (55.53) was third. Lisa Battaglia (28.65) won the 50 yard back, Kara Goeller and Chrissy Holland tied for second with a time of 29.72. Molly Seto (31.17), Lauren Rossi (31.87) and Meredith Saylor (32.17) went one-two-three in the 50 breaststroke. Seto also won the 50 free with a time of 24.74 followed by Lisa Battaglia in second (26.21) and Sarah Fraumann (26.48) in third place. Also winning for the Tigers were Michelle Nielson (1:01.37) in the 100 fly, Claire Pearson in the 100 back (59.94), Saylor in the 100 breaststroke (1:08.61) and Sandra Kamholz in the 200 free (1:58.71). The relay team of Conroy, Holland, Seto and Donahue won the 200 medley with a time of 1:48.89.
Princeton will host the Harvard-Yale-Princeton tri-meet on Feb. 2 and 3 at DeNunzio Pool.
