Providence, R.I. - Junior Jason White shut down the Brown Bears en route to a 3-0 Princeton win in Providence, R.I. today. The Tigers win by the same 3-0 score for the second straight game and improve to 5-2-2 on the year.
Lucas Moskowitz, who scored his first goal of the season in Princeton's 3-0 win at Seton Hall on Wednesday, scored his second goal of the season at 29:19 to give the Tigers a 1-0 lead at halftime. Moskowitz knocked in a header off a centered cross from Ryan Rich and Matt Douglas, both of whom picked up an assist on the play.
The Tigers struck again at the 70:51 mark with Matt Behncke's third goal of the season. Mike Nugent made the score 3-0 less than five minutes later with his team-leading sixth goal of the year. Nugent scored on a 10-yard shot off the crossbar.
White finished the game with six saves and Princeton finished with 12 shots on the day. Brown managed 11 shots and eight corner kicks compared to Princeton's four. The Tigers improve to 2-1-1 in the Ivy League and Brown drops to 1-1 in conference play. Princeton returns home to face Loyola on Wednesday, Oct. 17 at 7:30 p.m.
