Potsdam, N.Y. - After beating St. Lawrence 6-4 on Friday night, the Tigers could not handle the Clarkson Golden Knights on Saturday, losing the game by the score of 6-1. From the beginning it was apparent that the defensive prowess of Clarkson would be too much for the Tigers to handle.
The Golden Knights scored two goals in the first ten minutes of the game, and went to the dressing room with a 4-0 lead after just 15 minutes of action. Defensive zone lapses by Princeton and solid forechecking by the Golden Knights made life miserable for Princeton goalie Nate Nomeland, who made his first start in six games. While Nomeland certainly did not have his best game of the season, the Tigers were outshot 15-4 in the first period, which really put them behind the eight ball.
A late goal by senior captain Kirk Lamb was Princeton's only tally of the night, and assists were given to David Schneider and Matt Maglione.
The Tigers host Cornell and Colgate at Baker Rink this weekend. Starting times for both games are 7 p.m.
