Street and Smith Releases Women's Lacrosse Preseason All-American Teams

Baltimore, Md. - Street and Smith Magazine named five Princeton women's lacrosse players to its preseason Division I All-American team. Senior midfielder Julie Shaner (Gwynedd Valley, Pa.), who scored 44 points last season (31g, 13a), was the lone Princeton representative on the first team. Junior attack Lauren Simone (Delran, N.J.) and junior defender Jessica Nelson (E. Northport, N.Y.) were both second team All-America picks, and juniors Brook Owens (midfielder, Paoli, Pa.) and Kim Smith (attack, Baltimore, Md.) received honorable mentions. Simone and Smith led the Tigers with 57 points apiece last season, Owens logged 1077 minutes of playing time and Nelson will help anchor the defense this season.
