Washington Capitals Sign Men's Hockey Standout Chris Corrinet

Washington, D.C. - Washington Capitals Vice President and General Manager George McPhee announced to day the signing of right wing Chris Corrinet to a two-year contract. Corrinet, served as an assistant captain for the Princeton hockey team during the 2000-01 season, has been assigned to the Portland Pirates of the American Hockey League.
Corrinet, who will turn 23 on Oct. 29, was the Capitals' fourth choice (107th) overall in the 1998 National Hockey League Entry Draft. He was a teammate of current Capitals forward Jeff Halpern, for two years while both played at Princeton. Corrinet was second on the Tigers with 25 points (13g, 12a) in 31 games, and he also had 30 minutes of penalties.
The 6' 3", 220-pound native of Derby Conn., finished his Princeton career (124 games played) with 36 goals, 38 assists and 131 penalty minutes.
