Women's Lacrosse Defeats Temple 15-7

Princeton, N.J. - Princeton defeated Temple 15-7 in women's lacrosse on Wednesday evening, as Lauren Simone scored six points (4g, 2a) and Kim Smith scored her 100th career collegiate goal in a constant rainstorm. Julie Shaner scored five points (3g, 2a) and Theresa Sherry had three markers in the contest. Princeton scored two goals late in the first half to go into halftime with a 5-3 lead, and it would pull away to a 15-7 victory in the second stanza. In fact, Princeton could easily have scored 20 goals had it not been for the superb goaltending of Temple's Sheena Oommen.
Temple's Deanna Radcliff scored three goals in a losing effort.
As soon as complete statistics are available, this release will be updated. Princeton hosts Harvard at noon on Saturday, April 14 at the Class of 1952 Stadium. The women's game will be followed directly by the Princeton men's lacrosse team's game against the men of Harvard. Totals:
