Philadelphia, Pa. - Princeton, who was down 3-2 at halftime, defeated Pennsylvania 10-5 on Wednesday evening to win its 10 consecutive game. Charlotte Kenworthy (2g, 1a), Whitney Miller (2g, 1a) and Lauren Simone (1g, 2a) each scored three points in the victory, as the Tigers improved their record to 11-1 (5-0 Ivy League). Also, Kim Smith scored two goals, while Penn goalie Alaina Harper made a career-high 20 saves for the Quakers.
Penn gained the early lead when Jen Hartman scored at 21:35 of the first half, but Princeton's Kim Smith and Theresa Sherry scored the next two goals to give the Tigers a 2-1 lead midway through the first half. Kate Murray and Traci Marabella scored in the last five minutes of the half to give the Quakers a 3-2 lead at the break. Princeton stormed out of the locker room to score the next six goals (Charlotte Kenworthy, Mimi Hammerberg, Miller, Julie Shaner, Simone and Smith), and it would go onto to win 10-5. Freshman goalie Meghan McInnes made six saves in the victory.
Princeton plays at No. 10-ranked Dartmouth on Saturday, April 21 at noon.
