Friebe, Becker and Townsend Lead No. 14 Princeton Over Rutgers in Field Hockey

Ilvy Friebe scored four goals to lead the 14th ranked Princeton field hockey team to a 10-1 victory against Rutgers Wednesday night. Emily Townsend and Rachael Becker each added two goals for the Tigers as Princeton improved its record to 4-3.
Becker opened the game's scoring at 2:26 on a shot from inside the circle. Rutgers answered back at 4:16 of the first period on a goal from Jaime Fraser. The game however would not stay even for long as Friebe scored her first goal of the game 1:26 later. Also scoring for the Tigers in the first period was Claire Miller.
Princeton continued its strong play in the second period, scoring four more times on goals from Friebe, Natalie Martirosian and Emily Townsend. Both Princeton goaltenders, Kelly Baril and Zehra Nizami each played a period in goal. Baril made one stop in the first period and earned her fourth win of the season.
The Tigers, 4-3, host Old Dominion on Saturday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. The two teams last met in the 2001 NCAA Tournament Second Round, a game won by Princeton, 2-1 at the Class of 52 Stadium.
